What do I need to do ahead of time before you come to get my junk?

Moving services will ask you to pack up all of your belongings and have them ready to go when the moving truck arrives.

However, junk is a little different.

It doesn’t need to be carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and packed neatly in a box.

It just needs to go!

Here’s what we need you to do before we arrive.

Go through your home and make a list of junk that you would like removed.

This helps you and our team know what you are getting rid of.

You could also do something as clever as putting a bright sticky note or a piece of bright tape on larger items that you would like removed from your house.

This helps us know exactly what is junk so that we don’t take anything of value to you.

You’ll want to collect smaller items in boxes or bags to keep them separate from what you want to keep.

You can also pile them somewhere out of reach of your personal items that you don’t want removed.

We realize that getting all of this done before we arrive may be a hassle.

We don’t want to make the process more difficult for you than it needs to be.

As long as we are clear on what we need to take, we are able to get the job done quickly and efficiently.

Unlike your weekly waste management company that (in some areas) will only pick up trash that is disposed of in the proper containers, we do not have any special regulations or requests for how you pack up your junk.

We do suggest that you save yourself some time and money by packing junk within junk.

What do we mean by this?

If you have old bins or old trash cans that are going to be thrown out with the rest of your junk you can save yourself some plastic trash bags by putting your junk inside of the old bins.

Remember to please keep us in mind.

While we do have the equipment to pick up very large heavy junk, we will also be carrying much of your junk by hand out to our truck.

The lighter and your smaller your boxes of junk are, the easier it will be for us to carry it out.

So for instance, if you have a box that you are stuffing full of junk, keeping in mind that we will be lifting it will help you know how heavy to make it.

Distributing weight evenly within several boxes versus stuffing one full to the brim will help us remove it much easier.

That’s all you need to know for planning ahead before truck arrives.

Know what you want to be removed and make sure it is clear to us what goes and what stays.

We have very careful teams, but the last thing we want to happen is for us to remove an item that you did not want to get rid of.

The clearer we are on what our job is, the better we are able to serve you.
